PROVIDING STRONG EVIDENCE-BASED ANALYSIS

acaps_in_the_field_mozambique_tw.pngSince Idai made landfall, ACAPS has been conducting analysis. Three ACAPS staff were deployed to Beira to provide analytical support to the Mozambique EOC Assessment & Analysis Cell, together with REACH, Map Action, OCHA and IFRC. Additional and remote support was provided by the ACAPS Geneva Analysis team.

ACAPS team took over the analytical task of comparing the primary data with baseline data and in-crisis secondary data of the available sources and assessments conducted by actors on the ground. ACAPS also used its network of cluster contacts to provide expert judgement on draft narratives of sectoral interpretations.

ACAPS together with its partner and the Government of Mozambique released the rapid multi-sectoral assessment, as well as district profiles for the affected provinces of Sofala and Manica.

Ongoing monitoring and independent analysis is provided by ACAPS remotely.
