Afghanistan faces one of the world's largest and most complex humanitarian crisis which has grown even more severe since the Taliban took control. ACAPS has established an analysis hub for the Afghanistan humanitarian context. With the aim of strengthening the humanitarian narrative towards a more evidence-based approach, the hub provides regular independent, timely, and high-quality products that support response programming and planning for the country. These include but are not limited to the political economy, climate change and the environment, poverty and livelihoods, conflict dynamics, important features of the society and culture, and other aspects of the context.
Through our analysis, we focus on events that impact the life of people in Afghanistan and neighbouring countries, as well as the effects that these impacts might have over time. We also look at specific population groups and locations when relevant. Technical advice to stakeholders working on Afghanistan is also provided.
