Myanmar: Flooding in Kachin

From 29 June, Myanmar’s monsoon season brought heavy rainfall that caused fluvial flooding in the north of the country. The most extensive flooding has occurred Kachin state. At least 31,000 people were evacuated and 26,400 people were reported to be affected by the floods, only some of whom had been evacuated.

Impact of hurricane Beryl

On 1 July, Hurricane Beryl made landfall in southern Windward Island, becoming the earliest Category 5 Atlantic Basin hurricane on record. By
4 July, its impact had killed ten people across the Caribbean. Some of the most affected islands are Carriacou and Petite Martinique in Grenada, with 95% of houses damaged.

Bangladesh: impact of tropical cyclone remal

On 26 May 2024, Cyclone Remal, the first of the March-July cyclone season, made landfall near the Mongla and Khepupara coasts, in the Khulna and Barishal divisions of Bangladesh.
