This report uses descriptive, explanatory, and anticipatory analysis to help decision makers understand the scale of the ripple effects from the war, dividing the impacts into four themes:

- energy and water security

- economy, shipping disruption, and food security

- conflict and social cohesion

- humanitarian needs, gaps, and access.

This anticipatory analysis aims to alert humanitarian responders to the potential humanitarian implications of the indefinite partial closure of Gaza’s border crossings and how a collapse of the ceasefire would further aggravate needs. 

Between June–November 2025, crisis-affected populations in 36 countries experienced high to extreme humanitarian access constraints, according to the ACAPS humanitarian access analysis framework. Operational barriers, including the requirement for aid organisations to secure multiple sequential approvals, fragmented service coverage across jurisdictions, and increased reliance on remote modalities, further hindered their ability to meet basic needs. 

This report provides an overview of the anticipated humanitarian risks triggered by drought in 2026 across West Asia, aiming to support emergency preparedness and response. 

This report focuses on Gaza and the West Bank. The analysis builds on ACAPS’s El Niño and Southern Oscillation global anticipatory analysis, as well as its climate analysis and seasonal hazard monitoring in West Asia.

On the evening of 17 March 2025, Israel unilaterally ended the ceasefire that it agreed upon with Hamas on 15 January, launching air strikes on Gaza. During the ceasefire, Israel had killed at least 170 Gazans and allowed only 70% of the 600 aid trucks to be allowed in daily. The 17 March air strikes killed at least 404 civilians and injured around 660. 

Since December 2024, Israeli military forces have intensified their operations across the West Bank, with a major escalation occurring shortly after the ceasefire in Gaza came into effect on 19 January 2025

On 15 January 2025, mediators announced a ceasefire agreed between Israel and Hamas that would end the conflict that began on 7 October 2023. While an influx of aid and a cessation of hostilities will reduce threats to Gazans, humanitarian needs will remain severe, access will likely remain limited, and deaths will continue to occur throughout the first phase of the ceasefire.

This report aims to highlight the anticipated humanitarian impact of the coming winter season on the population in Gaza. It particularly focuses on shelter and NFIs, WASH, and health, the sectors anticipated to face the most winter-related impacts.

On 5 October 2024, Israel launched offensives in northern Gaza. It has been estimated that around 75,000 people were displaced between 5–15 October. Most are internally displaced within northern Gaza, fleeing from North Gaza to Gaza City governorate, as continued fighting and blocked roads prevent movement to south.

 This report highlights the hostilities’ impacts on education in Gaza and the main challenges facing the education system. It will also highlight the secondary impacts of the prolonged lack of education on Gazan students.

This report provides an analysis of the humanitarian implications of the recent escalation of violence in the West Bank since late August 2024. This report analyses pre and post-7 October MHPSS needs in Gaza, the drivers of needs, and MHPSS resources and coping capacities, highlighting the specific needs of people of different genders and ages, people with disabilities, healthcare workers, and detained Palestinians. 

On 21 and 22 August 2024, Israel issued evacuation orders covering 15 neighbourhoods of Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis in central and southwestern Gaza, respectively. Based on initial estimates, around 30,000 people lived in 146 IDP sites in the affected areas as of 21 August.

This analysis identifies risks posed by a potential polio outbreak, particularly for children, and analyses major constraints in the health and humanitarian response.
