Yemen: Key economic incentives of peace

On 1 April 2022, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg announced that the main warring parties had agreed to a two-month truce starting 2 April, to last until 2 June 2022. The truce includes a halt to air, ground, and maritime hostilities within Yemen and across borders.

It is increasingly likely that there could be an immense oil leakage from and/or an explosion of the FSO Safer, a floating storage and offloading unit anchored in the Red Sea, 60km north of the port of Al Hodeidah.
