Yemen: Gender dynamics, roles and needs

In 2023, 21 million people in Yemen are estimated to be in need of humanitarian assistance and protection. Eight years of conflict have left millions of women, men, boys, and girls suffering from the compounded effects of armed violence, an economic crisis, and the disruption of public services. These have affected the lives of large segments of the population, particularly women and girls, marginalised groups, and certain socioeconomic categories. The social dynamics in Yemen have also changed over time, including gender roles within households and communities. The conflict is affecting men, women, boys, and girls differently.
