Last March, governments around the world announced the closure of all schools and universities in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19. Children out of school for over six months now face the start of the new school year, whether in actual classrooms or virtual classrooms. This thematic series analyses challenges such as scarce, overwhelmed and/or unequal access to educational resources, attempts to mitigate COVID-19 containment measures in the classroom, and potential impacts of the pandemic on children’s development and mental health.
